2/28/2022
Tbilisi Pride has submitted a report to the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) on the situation of LGBTI people in Georgia.
Our report focuses on hate-motivated violence and freedom of Assembly, July 5 events, LGBTI people and Covid–19, legal recognition of gender, protecting the rights of LGBTI human rights defenders, intersex people in Georgia, absence of human rights action plan, and other important LGBTI-related issues.
This report is especially important in light of the ECRI representatives' visit to Georgia scheduled for 2022.The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) is a unique human rights monitoring body which specialises in questions relating to the fight against racism, discrimination (on grounds of “race”, ethnic/national origin, colour, citizenship, religion, language, sexual orientation and gender identity), xenophobia, antisemitism and intolerance in Europe.
